Brief Description of Mandate/Functions with respect to Geoscientific Activities:

1. Conduct engineering geological and geotechnical investigations for proposed infrastructure projects such as dams, pumping plants, bridges, etc.
2. Locate favorable sites for dam/reservoir projects and construction materials.
3. Participate in dam & other projects' development and implementation involving feasibility study, detailed engineering and construction stages nationwide.
4. Conduct groundwater investigation and development projects.
